Interested in making games?

If you reside in the CSRA/Greater Augusta area and have a board game, card game, ttrpg, or an otherwise physical media game idea or prototype, we would love to hear from you! Up to three applicants will be chosen to have their ideas made into beautifully handcrafted and playable games.

What is this??

The Augusta Game Anthology is a six-month immersive initiative aimed at amplifying local creative voices through the power of play. This project will identify and support emerging game designers in the CSRA, providing mentorship and resources to develop three unique, locally designed games. Each game will be professionally handcrafted, with 20 first-edition copies manufactured and distributed.

FAQ

Does it cost anything to apply/participate?

No! It is free to apply and all required costs related to production will be covered by the Augusta Games Anthology.

What happens after the games are made?

We intend to have a fun and exciting launch party to celebrate the project’s completion, where members of the community can enjoy playing the games together!

Will these games be for sale?

Hopefully! We would love to partner with local businesses to distribute the games created. If any revenue is generated from sales, we intend for a 50/50 split between the designer and Augusta Games Anthology.

How will Augusta Games Anthology help produce my game?

As the game designer, you will be responsible for the game design decisions for your game. On our end, we will help consult on game design, arrange prototyping and game testing, and create visual assets and illustrations. Once all the designing and planning and prototyping is done, we’ll take over and begin our work handcrafting 20 first edition runs of your game.

What will the final product be like?

Everything we do in studio will be completely by hand, often using traditional crafts and skills. As such these games will be as much pieces of unique art as they are interactive toys, and will be unlike anything you could get at a big box store.

I’m interested in the project but I don’t have a game I want to make- how can I get involved?

We’d love for you to be involved! Please sign up for our mailing list to get important updates and news regarding the project- there will be much need for playtesters and community input and we would love to hear from you.

If you are a local business or individual who would like to be a partner or support the project, firstly we greatly appreciate your interest and support, and please reach out via our contact form, or email renhua.studio@gmail.com
